As we gear up to see the Spring 2012 collections of designers round the world, the fashion industry finds itself finally espousing on collections that were shown almost half a year ago, in February. With September issues coming out in droves featuring everyone from Kate Moss to Gwyneth Paltrow on their covers(Vogue and Elle respectively) wearing designers like Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton, the Fall 2011 season is most certainly here.
For his February presentation, New York designer Phillip Lim, showed a collection in knots. Brown and tan two toned tailored trousers were paired with tops that came with knotted scarf like flourishes, and a selection of outerwear. A season of separates is what the Thailand born designer crafted, the silhouettes lazily cinched at the waists.
While the collection does come off as a little Celine, with it’s use of leather and cut of trousers, it’s decidedly one fit for 3.1 Phillip Lim. With a palette of vibrant greens and blues, and a selection of heels that would make any shoe fanatic salivate, Lim presents another collection that will find it self at home in the boutiques it has in past seasons like Devine Street’s VanJean
