Today begins a week-long partnership between the Fashion Board at USC and mass retailer, American Eagle. Benefiting underprivileged families as well as breast cancer research, the student organization will hold a bake sale today, as well as a denim drive which will continue through to next Wednesday.
Ways that you can be a part:
Bring Denim – The denim drive for this week is two-fold. You can either bring denim to the Fashion Board National Lee Denim Day tables in front of the Russell House and the Moore School of Business today between 9-2 or to one of the designated “denim drops” throughout the Week. Denim brought to the Lee Denim Day tables will be donated to local Boys and Girls clubs while denim collected throughout the rest of the week will benefit the Cotton: From Blue to Green denim recycling program which will be converted into insulation for homes.
Buy Baked Goods – In addition to collecting denim today, Fashion Board will also be selling baked goods at their National Lee Denim Day tables. The proceeds from the table will be given to the National Lee Denim Day foundation which will assist in the fight against breast cancer.
Like AE on Facebook – American Eagle has agreed to donate money to a charity of Fashion Board’s choice – in this case National Lee Denim Day – dependent upon the amount of likes we can get on their USC AE Union page.
Spread the word – Feel free to tweet, Facebook, text, and run and tell your friends about a wonderful way to give back to the community. We really need all the support we can get.
