The Brits are coming, the Brits are coming, and they’ll be taking up residence at the Columbia Museum of Art on Friday October 28.
Next Friday, the Columbia Museum of Art will put on their annual Black and White Ball. One of the more fashionable events here in Columbia for the past 6 years, the masked ball will be a return to the Swinging Sixties to raise money for the Contemporaries’ Art Acquisition Fund.
The black tie affair will feature a silent auction, live music – by way of The Return, a Beatles tribute band – food – a royal English cuisine – and drink – Pimms cocktais and pints will be available.
So in prepartion we’ve pulled a few vintage inspiration images to get things started. While flipping through images of Twiggy and Jacqueline Kennedy, both style icons during the time, it became immediately evident that Fall 2011 collections took direct inspiration from this decade. Take a look at Prada Fall 2011 for instance!
So, after you’ve gotten the right of inspiration, and ransacked your closet – or Sid and Nancy as I saw a new sequined dress in there when I popped in this week – make sure to purchase your ticket for the Contemporaries 6th Annual Black and White Ball. We look forward to seeing you there on Friday!
