To kick of the pre-spring collections, Karl Lagerfeld wowed editors and buyers at the Chateau de Versailles, near Paris.

The newest creations of Mr. Lagerfeld featured in this cruise collection, certainly reminded everyone of the belle epoque – the late 1890’s until about 19114 – with a touch of modernism to make it Chanel.


The catwalk was in the gardens of the Chateau it self, and what better a venue for the Marie Antoinette-ish collection.

Pastels were the predominate color with the various pieces but also the bobs packed a bit of punch in the color department. Nevertheless, Lagerfield fount his strongest points in classic looks of black and white.

Ruffles, golden details and flowers were mainly present on the poofy dresses, some of the looks with crinolines, which were audacious designs for Chanel
